WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTER THE ITALIAN LOCKDOWN? 3 JOURNALS IN COMPARISON

Italy will be in Lockdown at least until the next 3 of May

Italy is still in lockdown. According to the Prime Minister Conte, it will be at least until the next 3 of May. He had extended the lockdown, before expected until the 14 April. The news was quite predictable, because the number of infected people is still high and there is no safety to start again the normal life. Anyway, almost all companies were disappointed caused they are still closed, instead abroad the economy is already taking off again.

Now all the Italians have the same big question: what will happen after the 3 May? Will be everything as before? Of course, no one has the answer and it’s important to keep daily updated with the spread of the pandemy, but it is quite probably negative. And now the major Italian newspapers are trying to answer, to give to the readers' some relevant information.

3 Italian Journals in comparison

The journalist Alessandra Ziniti wrote in La Repubblica that it won’t be a full comeback to the normality, but at least the business will start again. The main opponent, Il Corriere della Sera didn’t answer the question in a macroeconomic dimension but it took another path, reporting something of interest for the common people. According to it, probably, with the 4 may Italians will walk and run again, but always alone and protected by a mask. In addition, the government is thinking to open again the public parks. On the other hand, Il Sole 24 ore focused on the economic side of the phenomenon and differentiated it based on the regions. According to the journal, Lombardia will be ready to open everything again, following the rules: respecting social distance and making masks and serological tests mandatory. Il Sole 24 ore tried even to make some predictions:
Probably the offices and the companies will open firstly, for economic reasons, followed by the schools and university. On the other hand, the president of Toscana, Enrico Rossi, said that only some companies will open, especially the ones projected for the export, in order to avoid the competition. He didn't refers about the education field.

The picture doesn’t seem very clear, the information are many and sometimes opposite. No one knows exactly what will happen after the next 3 may. The main journals tried to answer the readers’ questions and worries, and each one with a different approach. La Repubblica was more general and regarding all Italy, instead Il Sole 24 Ore differentiated all the regions and focused on the economic side of the phenomenon, and finally Il Corriere della Sera had a more personal, superficial approach and tried to answer to the common’s people need.

We will see only after the deadline what really will happen and if the lockdown will finish or not. For the moment we can only keep updated everyday.
